There is a new crowd funding player...Boosted

The Arts Foundation have just announced their entry into the crowd funding arena with their future site www.boosted.org.nz

The Arts Foundation have indicated that the contributors to the site will actually be donating to the Their charity which will redistribute the donations if the project reaches its funding criteria ie. level and within a time limit.

Boosted will be open to all artforms (not just visual arts) as well as the possibility of charitable art organisations looking to raise funds for specific events, workshops etc. This gives all artists the opportunity to think creatively in a marketing sense, to differentiate themselves from the other projects that will be on offer.

Boosted will be differing from the usual incentive based pledging due to their charitable staus, this taken directly from the boosted web page

"www.boosted.org.nz will have an important point of difference. Projects will not offer rewards in return for pledges. This is to protect the charitable status of donations. The Arts Foundation knows people support projects because they want to be part of their success, not for direct rewards".

Boosted will be one to watch in NZ for all involved in the arts community and looks to offer a hub for philanthropy that will be as accessible for the public as it will be for the artists.
