The clutter and repetitiveness of modernity creates barriers to personal communication. The simple things seem invisible with the more complex reducing the potency of of the spoken word, mitigating our every attempt to connect to the point of ‘silence’.

If we cannot communicate with each other an awkward silence may become deafening.

The video content is repetitive distorted mouths eating bland, inconsequential food. The audio eminating from the speakers in the table is enhanced scraps and scratches of cutlery on plates.

Dinner For Two is constructed from 4mm Soft Galv wire and found objects. The work pivots around the interplay between the solidity and relative permanence of the steel wire and the pellucid construction of familiar objects such as glasses, plates and the table itself.
